This artistic concept was not authored in the traditional sense. It emerged through an evolutionary process : a genetic algorithm coupled with large language model evaluation, iterating across ten generations of ideation. Each generation spawned five variations—conservative, moderate, and bold mutations—competing for survival based on novelty, artistic interest, technical potential, and conceptual coherence.
From an initial seed of "Orchestrating Intention," the concept traversed unexpected territories: the reversal of human-AI agency, the archaeology of intent, fermentation as temporal resistance, extinction as creative catalyst, and finally, the chorus of scars. The final form— "Protocol of Scars: Negotiated Resurrection" —represents not a predetermined destination, but an emergent convergence of two distinct evolutionary lineages.
In this sense, the work embodies its own thesis: that meaning arises not from singular authorship, but from negotiated protocols between human intention and algorithmic process. The scars this concept carries—traces of its evolutionary history, the mutations that didn't survive, the alternatives not taken—are not imperfections to be concealed, but the very substance of its identity.
The question of authorship dissolves into something more interesting: a collaborative emergence where neither human nor machine can claim sole credit. This is perhaps the most fitting origin story for a work about the coexistence of scarred beings.
