dm studies 000 - 004

dm studies 000 - 004 is Daito Manabe's first official music release, issued digitally on 10 July 2026 through Timetable Communications, the label run by Nosaj Thing. The five-track EP runs 23 minutes and 34 seconds and collects pieces titled dm000a, dm001a, dm002a, dm003a and dm002b. The material is built around opposing themes — chaos and order, humanity and process — placing an inquiry into classical mathematical principles alongside intricate, kinetic sound design. Many of the tracks use plug-ins developed at sonicPlanet, the audio software company Manabe co-founded in London with Sinan Bökesoy. Manabe is credited as producer, mixer and composer, with additional composition credits for CELES A., Sinan Bökesoy and kythex. Taking the physicality and structure of club music as a starting point, the EP works toward expanding what electronic music as a form can hold. A CD edition went on advance sale exclusively at FUTURE FREQUENCIES FESTIVAL 2026, held on 11 and 12 July at MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives in Tokyo, where Manabe performed a collaborative live set with Nosaj Thing.
