Nosaj Thing & Daito Manabe
First release under the joint names
LXR is the first music released under the joint names of Nosaj Thing and Daito Manabe, issued as a digital single on 28 July 2026 through Timetable. It carries a single track of the same name, running four minutes and twenty seconds. The release is anchored in a creative partnership the two have maintained for well over a decade, and was made around their respective bases for experimentation: Manabe's gallery space FIL in Ebisu, Tokyo, and Nosaj Thing's platform Timetable. That partnership began with the 2012 music video for Eclipse/Blue featuring Kazu Makino of Blonde Redhead, continued through the No Reality live project unveiled at Coachella in 2016, and most recently took the form of Material Works, a live AV installation series staged at FIL in 2026 with graphic designer David Rudnick. LXR follows the pair's collaborative live performance at FUTURE FREQUENCIES FESTIVAL in Tokyo, and marks a new chapter for the collaboration. The joint live AV show built around this music is set for its UK premiere at the ICA in London on 4 November 2026, and its Iberian premiere at MIRA Digital Arts Festival in Barcelona on 6 and 7 November 2026.
