Narrative-Based Generative Advertising

A 15-second commercial demo that places sponsor fashion, sponsor beer, and sponsor furniture inside a serious short-film scene, treating the products as character actions rather than product explanations.

01 / Film Structure

Turning advertising into actions inside a story

Instead of placing products in front of the viewer as product shots, the demo gives fashion, a drink, and a chair narrative value inside a short moment of returning to a room at night.

The protagonist wears sponsor fashion
00-05s / Wear

Wear the sponsor fashion

After returning on a rainy night, the protagonist adjusts a black coat. The fashion is not explained; it defines the character's tension and physical presence.

The protagonist drinks sponsor beer
05-10s / Drink

Drink the sponsor beer

Beside a rain-covered window, the protagonist takes one restrained sip. The alcohol depiction avoids claims about health, mood change, status, or success.

The protagonist sits in sponsor furniture
10-15s / Sit

Sit in the sponsor furniture

The final shot lowers the scene's center of gravity as the protagonist sits down. The chair becomes the place where the film lands.

02 / Sponsor Slots

Three replaceable sponsor slots

The core format keeps the same short-film structure while allowing each sponsor's product references to be replaced. This demo uses fictional brands to test quality before a commercial brief.

03 / Production Pipeline

From reference assets to a 15-second commercial

The workflow separates product references, start frames, Runway generation, edit assembly, and validation so the pitch demo and sponsor-specific versions can follow the same production path.

GPT Image was used to create turnaround references for the coat, beer can, and chair. Each five-second shot then received a locked start frame, and Runway image-to-video generated the motion. The three clips were assembled with ffmpeg, with the advertising disclosure burned into the final five seconds.

Because each shot has a clear sponsor slot, future sponsor-specific versions can replace the product reference while preserving the script's tone, lighting, and emotional arc.

Step 1
Product references Generate reference sheets for the coat, beer can, and chair.
Step 2
Start frames Lock an initial image for each of the three shots.
Step 3
Video generation Create each five-second motion shot in Runway.
Step 4
Composition Join the shots and add disclosure and verification checks.

04 / Validation

Technical checks before publication

The demo was exported as a lightweight MP4 for presentation use, then checked for structure, duration, and disclosure placement before being embedded on this page.

Video spec

1280x720 / 24fps / 15.000s

360 frames with no audio, encoded as a lightweight H.264 MP4 for web review and sharing.

Disclosure

Burned in after the 10-second mark

The final furniture shot includes the advertising disclosure near the bottom of the frame.

Alcohol depiction

One restrained adult sip only

The film avoids minors, excessive drinking, health claims, success claims, and social-status claims.

Positioning of the demo

This page documents a pitch and demonstration artifact. The product names and brands shown in the film are fictional test references and do not indicate an actual sponsor.

Concept, prompt design, generation direction, editing, and publishing: Daito Manabe. Product references and start frames were generated with OpenAI GPT Image. Motion shots were generated with Runway Gen-4.5 and assembled locally with ffmpeg.

The page preserves the demo as a Selected Works case because the core idea is not a single generated clip, but a repeatable advertising format: one fixed serious short-film story with sponsor-specific visual slots.
